Oman Cricket Umpire Mr. Rahul Asher has been selected by ICC to officiate in the ICC World Cricket League Asia Qualifier – Division 1, to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 22nd April – 1st May.
Mr. Asher started playing cricket at the age of 10 and represented Kerala cricket board (India) for Under 13 and under 16 district, zone and State levels. He has been a prominent umpire with Oman Cricket for the last 11 years in the domestic cricket leagues.
Mr. Asher successfully completed (ACC) Asian Cricket Council umpire educators course held at Bangkok, Thailand in August 2016 under educators Mr. Peter Manuel and Mr. Bomi Jamula. He was a member of Umpiring panel and officiated in the tournament ACC-Under 16 Elite Cup 2014 in Qatar.
