Muscat: Oman Cricket hosted its second edition of the Tennex Cup powered by Majees Technical Services LLC. The 32 team tournament was held from 5th May – 2nd June 2023. The participating teams divided in groups of 4 poised in a fashion such that every team got 3 matches to shy their chance in the league stage for the next round, with the topper in each group qualifying for the quarter finals, followed by the Semi Finals and Finals that were played on the 2nd of June. Matches were played in 10 overs a side format.
The Semi Final 1 was played between Muscat Super Kings and Sarco in which Sarco chased down the target of 77 runs in the last over with 3 wickets in hand. The Semi Final 2 was played between Abu Hatim and Deccan Champions B in which the Abu Hatim scored 123 and restricting Deccan Champions to a mere 75 claiming victory by 48 runs.
The final was played between Sarco , the defending champions and Abu Hatim , unbeaten in the tournament. Electing to Bowl 1st , Sarco could not hold onto the Abu Hatim batters. Sagheer Mohammed trailblazed the Final with a blistering 61 in 20 balls with 3 boundaries and 7 maximums. Abu Hatim set a target of 121 for Sarco. In return, Sarco failed to start well losing half their side within 4 overs. Although the chase was alive, Sarco fell short of 23 runs. Sachin Hegde picked 3/9 in his two overs for Abu Hatim. Sagheer Mohammed was adjudged Player of the Match – Final for his batting prowess in the final. Ihsanullah of Abu Hatim was Adjudged the Player of the Tournament scoring 159 runs in 6 innings. Mr Ishrath Habibulla – Managing Director, Majees Technical Services presented the accolades and also the Champions and Runners Up titles along with a cash award to the teams.

Oman Cricket congratulates the Winners and all other participating teams for setting up a competitive environment and uplifting the spirit of cricket in all forms. Oman Cricket concluded Domestic Season 2022-23 with this tournament.
