Birmingham , UK : Oman Cricket’s Chairman, H.E. Pankaj Kanaksi Khimji has been named as one of the hands to the steering of Associate Cricket being elected as the ICC Associate Member Director for 2 years in the ICC’s Annual General Meeting held in Birmingham , United Kingdom.
Pankaj Khimji is the newest member to the 3-Man position with Usman Khwaja(Singapore) and Neil Speight(Bermuda) retaining their position respectively.
The voting was conducted at the Formal Associate Member’s Meeting by a weighted secret ballot in which 40 Associate Nations and 5 Regional Representatives cast their votes. Khimji claimed the second of the director’s position bagging 24 votes to his favour. Earlier , Pankaj Khimji had contested for the same position in 2020 missing out be a solitary one vote.
Being elected as the Director , Pankaj Khimji said ,” I am overwhelmed by the trust and belief of fellow associate nations in extending their support to my candidature for the ICC board seat! Associate Cricket has miles to go and lots to be done. I am looking forward to getting the Associate Nations’ interests in the minds and hearts of the fellow Full member nations to further emphasize and prioritize to be able to provide the associate cricket nation’s a base for development of basic cricket infrastructure and sustainable income which is critical for the survival and growth of the associate cricket,”.

The year 2022 was one of the most remarkable year for the chief architect – being appointed as the Vice-President of the Asian Cricket Council and now winning the position of the ICC Associate Member Director. He was also appointed Advisor at the Ministry of Commerce , Industry and Investment Promotion by a royal decree issued by His Majesty earlier this year.
