Muscat, Oman : Khuwair Warriors managed to pull off a tie against Ghubrah Giants and Qurum Thunders beat Darsait Titans convincingly by 8 wickets in the ongoing Oman D20.
Calling right at the toss, Khuwair Warriors elected to bat first. Khuwair Warriors got of to a blitz start courtesy of Zeeshan Siddiqui (48 of 28 ; 4×4,4×6) and Arsalan Bashir (34 of 30 ; 3×4,1×6). Sean Nowak and Muzaffar Shiralkar contributed to the batting the depth taking the Warriors to 150/9. Prabhakaran Kannan (3/14), Tanuj Sivakumar (3/11) and Yashas GL (2/38) were among the key wicket takers. In response, Ghubrah Giants’ Gowtham Sagar (90 of 62 ; 4×4,7×6) single handedly turned tables for the Giants inching them close to the target before Khuwair Warriors’ Hashim Sayed picked 2 wickets in the last over tieing the match. Sean Nowak (3/36) and Mohsin Qureshi (2/8) were among the key wickets takers for the Warriors. Both teams picked a point each for the game.
In another game, Qurum Thunders put Darsait Titans to bat first. Darsait Titans got off to a flying start courtesy Karan Kannan (61 of 43 ; 5×4,2×6) and able contribution from Lakpriya Ravindra and Sahil Shaik to take them to a total of 160 runs. Samay Shrivastav (4/29) and Shoaib Khan (2/19) were the key wicket takers for the Thunders. In response, the Qurum Thunders’ aggressive approach set the tone to the chase with Aiyappa CR (59 of 51 ; 7×4,2×6) and Shoaib Khan (81 of 49 ; 10×4,3×6) taking them over the line. Qurum Thunders registered their 4th win of the league out of 5 games.
