Level 2a

MUSCAT: As part of building world class cricket infrastructure Oman Cricket added another set of highly qualified match officials to its growing pool of umpires with as many as 17 contenders attending the Asian Cricket Council certified Level Two Umpires Course at Al Falaj Hotel.

On successful passing of all the umpires who attended the course, Oman Cricket would have a record number of Level Two umpires among the ICC Associate Countries in the region.

By organizing the higher qualification course Oman Cricket has achieved yet another landmark in the field of training umpires. The course was single handedly presented by A. R. Srinivasan, the only ACC certified Level Two Umpires Educator in the country, earning another feather in the cap.

The full day course, lasting for four days, from the November 25 to 28, had 17 certified Level One Oman Cricket umpires aiming to obtain the Level Two certification which would qualify them to officiate in the higher levels of the domestic and international tournaments.

Varied topics relating to umpiring at highest levels were covered in the classroom sessions the first three days followed by written exam and on-field exam on the last day.
